The Parc Introduced to Faculties

At the October meeting of the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Science and the newly re-established Faculty of Pharmacy, the Parc Centre presented itself as an organization oriented at
applied pharmaceutical research. The centre was established as a result of the initiative and support of the Zentiva company in cooperation with academicians; it provides an opportunity for PhD students of chemistry and pharmaceutics to gain professional experience and work on their dissertation theses in the field of pharmaceutical research ranging from new, active pharmaceutical compounds to new drug development. The Parc creates a great environment for creative and talented students who want to base their research on the actual needs of the industry. They are supervised by both academicians and scientists working in the industry. The aim of the centre is not only to develop new drugs but also to speed up innovation. All research is carried out using sophisticated technological support from the Zentiva company and top academicians. The centre is building an environment in which creative and talented students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge for their future careers in pharmaceutical research and development. The programme has already helped a number of successful doctoral students who publish and win conference prizes.
