CTT MU Participated in Prague.bio Conference 2025
On Thursday, September 25, the third edition of the Prague.bio Conference 2025 took place in Prague, bringing together over 400 participants from around the world.
The European Patent Office in Munich granted Masaryk University a European patent for an invention called Method for improving felting properties of animal fibres by plasma treatment. Its originators are Prof. Mirko Čermák and his team from the Department of Physical Electronics at the Faculty of Science of MU.
For the protection of the industrial property by means of patenting the following countries were selected: Belgium, Hungary, Poland and Portugal. The technology of felting animal (mostly rabbit) fur by means of plasma is used in hat manufacturing. In this field Masaryk University cooperates with the renowned company TONAK.
