Austrian visit to Brno - Biotech and Innovation sites

On February 17 the meeting with Austrian research institutions representatives, agencies, organizations cooperating with universities, commercial sphere, research and development took place in a Masaryk University Campus library.
Participating representatives came from f.e. FFG (Austrian Research Support Agency),WWTF (Viennese Science and Technology Fund), RTD services, university BOKU Vienna, LISA Austria etc. During the midmorning program large projects as CEITEC and ICRC were introduced, the University Campus project was brought to attention as well as presentations of other university centers and activities. In running and sequential discussions participants exchanged their opinions and ideas on methods of operation in universities cooperation with commercial sphere. A short tour was made through the Faculty of Science and then JIC (South Moravian Innovation Centre) visit, where the program continued in the Technology incubator. Here the JIC activity was introduced and Regional Innovation Strategy of South Moravia was presented. According to the Austrian partners positive reaction the visit was very beneficial and triggered an impulse for deepening our existing relationship and establishing new cooperation. The meeting was organized by Masaryk University Technology Transfer Center under the aegis of CoReTech project (Cross-border Co-operation in Research and Technology Transfer Support Services). Representatives of these institutions took part : TTO, CEITEC, South Moravian Innovation Centre, VUT, Mendel University, Regional Development Agency of South Moravia and last but not least Brno town-council representatives.
