TT DAY – the second open day of Technology Transfer Office MU – took place on 16 October and welcomed more than 100 visitors to our office. The ceremonial toast was given by the vice-rector for research Prof. Petr Dvořák.

There was a presentation of J HANÁK R biomechanical footwear which is being developed in cooperation with the Department of Kinesiology at the Faculty of Sports Studies of MU. The guests had the opportunity to try the shoes on and see for themselves how comfortable they were. At the next stand the representatives of the Faculty of Medicine of MU and the REGECO company offered the visitors an opportunity to try on a special simulation suit. It allows people to experience the restrictions seniors have to live with if they didn’t take care of their health when they were younger. Dozens of people tried the suit on during the event.

Another company collaborating with MU is Code Creator. Members of its team presented a multimedia reader which has been developed in cooperation with the Faculty of Sport Studies of MU. Prof. Pavel Sťahel, who demonstrated i.a. the effects plasma has on glass. The stand of the scientists from the Department of Anthropology presenting the FIDENTIS project also drew a lot of attention. Visitors were able to have their faces scanned by a special 3D scanner and have a look at 3D prints of human bones. The representatives of the Enantis Company have brought to TT DAY the EnviroPen biosensor which allows quick and reliable detection of halogenated hydrocarbons in the environment.

Besides these attractive presentations, the TT DAY visitors could take an amusing legal quiz concerning intellectual property. Those who succeeded were given interesting prizes including a sweet chocolate surprise.
