CTT MU Participated in Prague.bio Conference 2025
On Thursday, September 25, the third edition of the Prague.bio Conference 2025 took place in Prague, bringing together over 400 participants from around the world.
Five dozen participants met at a workshop entitled "Tick - Fragments and Attractions", which was held on 23 April by the TTO in cooperation with the Faculty of Science, MUNI. There were lectures on both the general tick issue and the treatment options for tick-borne diseases.
"The range of speakers varied: Assoc. Prof. Alena Žákovská with her students, followed by dr. Monika Dušková and myself with my students, all of us from the Department of Experimental Biology," said Dr. Helena Nejezchlebová, who organized the event. Last but not least of the speakers was Dr. Petr Dymáček from the association Borelioza CZ.
Dr. Dymacek's contribution got a great response. "He dealt with the topic of current treatment options for borreliosis, and the subsequent discussion was relatively long. There was also a warm reaction to the lively and funny presentation of the student Jakub Veselý, who introduced the results of his research on the awareness of laypersons to tick-borne pathogens to listeners," Nejezchlebová added.
The audience included academics from various Brno and non-Brno institutions, as well as practitioners, including hygienists, veterinarians, microbiologists, and high school teachers.
